About this tool
How it works.
Set the number of groups and deal. All 16 names go out round-robin, so nobody ends up in a group of two while another has six. Re-deal as often as you like, because the assignment is invisible until the card turns over, which shuts down most of the negotiating. Export CSV if you want a record of who worked with whom.
Everything is editable. Replace the list with your own, weight an entry by adding x3 after it, or switch draw modes above the entry box. Nothing is saved to a server, so your list stays in this browser.
What people use it for
- Splitting a class into project groups
- Making lab pairs
- Breaking up a chatty table
Tip
Deal in front of the class rather than arriving with the groups already made, because watching it happen removes most of the pushback before it starts.
Is it free?
Yes. This and all 52 other tools on the site are free with no account, no subscription, and no usage limit. You can use it in class, at work, in a giveaway, or on stream without asking permission.
